Agronomist & Farm Manager – Sustainable Farm Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Agronomist and Farm Manager to lead daily operations on our medium‑sized, progressive farm in Timau. The role combines hands‑on farm management with expert agronomic support to maximise crop and livestock productivity while applying sustainable practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage all farm operations including planting, irrigation, fertilisation, pest control and harvesting.
• Develop and implement crop rotation and planting schedules.
• Analyse soil data and crop performance to provide agronomic advice.
• Monitor crop health and recommend treatments for diseases and pests.
• Lead a team of farm workers and ensure health and safety standards are met.
• Manage farm budgets, procurement and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of operations, yields and input usage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in farm management and agronomy.
• Strong knowledge of crop production systems, soil science and precision agriculture.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
• Proficiency with farm management software and modern agri‑tech tools.
• Valid driver’s licence, including tractor operation.
