AI Automation Specialist – Construction & Operations

About the role
Our client, an employee‑owned commercial electrical contracting firm in the US Southwest, is investing heavily in AI and automation across its operations. They are seeking an AI Automation Specialist to design, implement, and scale production‑ready AI workflows for estimating, project management, recruiting, marketing and back‑office functions.
Key responsibilities
- Audit the current software ecosystem and pinpoint high‑ROI automation opportunities.
- Design, build and deploy workflows using Power Automate, Zapier or n8n, integrated with Microsoft 365 and line‑of‑business tools.
- Create prompt systems and reusable frameworks around ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Claude or other domain‑specific AI platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure data privacy, access controls and risk compliance before deployment.
- Train department leaders and their teams, monitor adoption, and measure impact.
- Prepare ROI reports and recommend scaling, refactoring or retiring workflows.
Required profile
- 3+ years of professional experience building AI systems, automations or data integrations.
- Hands‑on production experience with at least two of: Power Automate, Zapier, n8n (including multi‑step flows with error handling).
- Proficiency with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot or Claude within real workflows.
- Strong prompt‑engineering and workflow‑logic capabilities.
- Ability to script in Python or JavaScript for cases where no‑code solutions fall short.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience in professional services, construction, technical or other operations‑heavy environments.
