Bakery Technician

About the role

The Bakery Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of all bakery production equipment. You will work on ovens, mixers, proofers, conveyors, slicers and packaging machines to ensure uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on bakery equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential faults before breakdowns occur.
• Repair mechanical, electrical and electromechanical issues promptly.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep detailed service logs.
• Diagnose equipment failures, respond to emergency breakdowns and coordinate major repairs with external providers.
• Apply lockout/tagout procedures and maintain a safe workshop environment.
• Support GMP and food‑safety compliance during all maintenance activities.
• Monitor spare‑parts inventory, recommend procurement and control maintenance costs.
• Identify improvement opportunities to boost equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 5 years) in equipment maintenance within a bakery or food‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with occupational health & safety, lockout/tagout and GMP standards.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and respond quickly to emergencies.
