About the role
The Bancassurance Business Development Officer will drive growth of Faulu’s insurance portfolio across its branch network. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, cross‑selling insurance with banking products, and managing relationships to increase premium income and policy renewal rates.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase life and general insurance sales in assigned branches.
- Identify, prospect and convert new business opportunities from existing customers, referrals, walk‑ins and bank‑generated leads.
- Cross‑sell insurance products alongside banking solutions to deepen customer relationships and improve wallet share.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual premium income, policy issuance and renewal targets.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, branch teams and insurance underwriters, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Provide advisory support to customers on suitable insurance solutions and resolve inquiries, complaints and claims follow‑ups.
- Maintain accurate records in the Bancassurance Management System and prepare regular performance and pipeline reports.
- Ensure compliance with Insurance Regulatory Authority guidelines and internal policies.
Required profile
- Proven experience in sales or business development within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of bancassurance concepts and ability to work with branch staff.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding premium income and policy sales targets.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing insurance distribution in Kenya.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
