Branch Manager – Western Kenya

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead the Western Kenya branch of Capen Credit Limited, overseeing all lending and collections activities while driving business growth and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the branch team to achieve targets for lending, collections, customer acquisition and profitability.
• Manage the full loan cycle from customer acquisition to disbursement, repayment monitoring and collections.
• Grow the branch portfolio while maintaining sound credit quality and responsible lending standards.
• Monitor collection performance and take timely action on overdue, defaulted and high‑risk accounts.
• Supervise Loan Officers, Collection Officers and other staff, holding them accountable for performance.
• Conduct field visits, portfolio reviews and customer follow‑ups to identify risks and improve performance.
• Identify, investigate and report suspected fraud, operational risks and policy violations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, KYC requirements and applicable regulations.
• Monitor branch expenses and implement measures to achieve profitability.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve escalated issues professionally.
• Prepare accurate performance reports and provide management with business and risk updates.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in a relevant field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Collection Officer.
• Strong understanding of lending, collections, customer management and micro‑finance operations.
• Computer competency.
• Previous experience as a Branch Manager in a micro‑finance institution is an advantage.
