Business Development Manager – East Africa

About the role

Gallagher is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across East Africa. Reporting to the Sales Manager for Rest of Africa, you will uncover new opportunities, build strategic relationships, and expand the reach of Gallagher’s industry‑leading security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales growth and achieve revenue and margin targets across East Africa.
• Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline.
• Identify and win new business opportunities across key market sectors.
• Develop and execute market growth strategies to increase market share.
• Build long‑term relationships with strategic customers and decision‑makers.
• Support channel partners to improve capability, performance, and sales success.
• Grow revenue within existing accounts through upselling and cross‑selling.
• Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM reporting.
• Monitor competitor activity and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
• Provide market insights to support product and business strategy.
• Represent Gallagher at client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
• Travel extensively throughout Africa to support partners, customers, and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Commercially driven professional with a proven track record of driving growth in complex B2B environments.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from channel partners to senior executives.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related commercial discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales.
