Category Lead – Marketing (Food & Snacks)

About the role

Our client is looking for a senior‑level Category Lead – Marketing to own the strategy and execution for a fast‑growing Food & Snacks portfolio that includes noodles, cereals and snack products. You will shape brand positioning, drive trade activation and engage consumers across Kenya and regional markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual marketing plan aligned with growth and profitability targets.
• Identify consumer and channel opportunities to increase penetration and purchase frequency.
• Translate market insights on nutrition, convenience and youth snacking into actionable initiatives.
• Lead brand positioning, messaging and 360° campaign execution across ATL, digital, social, in‑store and PR.
• Partner with creative and media agencies to deliver impactful campaigns.
• Design trade marketing programs to boost visibility, conversion and distribution across General Trade, Modern Trade and Institutional channels.
• Collaborate with Sales and Route‑to‑Market teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor promotional performance and optimise trade spend based on ROI.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 5 years) in FMCG marketing.
• Direct experience managing food or snack brands.
• Strong understanding of consumer lifestyles, shopper behaviour and food trends.
• Proven ability to develop data‑driven category growth strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
