Cleaner – Commercial Building

About the role

The Cleaner will maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of a commercial building, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. This full‑time, on‑site position involves routine cleaning tasks as well as occasional deep‑cleaning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas such as corridors, staircases, lobbies, washrooms, and external walkways.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize designated spaces according to the cleaning schedule.
• Disinfect washrooms, restock soap, tissue and other consumables.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of garbage at the proper collection points.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and report low stock to the supervisor.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors and other fixtures as assigned.
• Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including entrances and parking surroundings.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards or suspicious activities promptly.
• Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, following health‑and‑safety guidelines.
• Assist with deep‑cleaning and special cleaning assignments when required.
• Support the property management team in delivering a professional, tenant‑friendly environment.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
• Previous experience (at least 12 months) in commercial, office or institutional cleaning.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual cleaning duties.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Honest, dependable and of high integrity.
