About the role
The Coalition on Violence Against Women (COVAW) is seeking a Communications and Advocacy Consultant to support the advocacy agenda of the Technology‑Facilitated Gender‑Based Violence (TFGBV) Community of Practice (CoP) within its Making All Spaces Safe (MASS) Programme (2024‑2027). The MASS Programme aims to strengthen national systems, embed TFGBV responses into existing GBV case management and referral mechanisms, and advance survivor‑centred laws and policies. The CoP brings together civil‑society, academia, government, technology companies, media, legal and survivor‑support organisations to foster coordinated action for safer digital spaces. The consultant will work closely with COVAW staff and multi‑stakeholder partners in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa to advance these objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Support the CoP’s advocacy agenda on TFGBV, including the development and dissemination of advocacy messages and materials.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and joint advocacy among civil‑society, government, academia, technology firms, media and legal sectors.
- Contribute to the integration of TFGBV responses into existing GBV case management and referral mechanisms.
