Director – Kenya

About the role

Global Health Strategies is seeking a Director for its Kenya office to lead communications, advocacy and stakeholder engagement efforts. The role is based in Nairobi, operates on a hybrid model and starts in July 2026 on a one‑year renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and edit a wide range of communication materials, including key messages, fact sheets, speeches, briefing documents, press releases, media advisories, toolkits, opinion pieces, web articles and social media content.
• Simplify complex public‑health and development concepts for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team, devise strategy, and mobilise partners to act on health and wellbeing initiatives.
• Manage client and project relationships, ensuring high‑quality delivery in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Provide strategic advice to audiences across Africa, leveraging deep knowledge of media and communications trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in global development or communications, with a track record of leading teams to excellent outcomes.
• Strong understanding of global public‑health and development issues.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to inspire and build capacity in others.
• Strategic thinker comfortable with agile, high‑velocity work settings.
