Driver (G3) – Regional Office, Nairobi

About the role

The Regional Office of UN Women in Nairobi seeks a professional driver (G3) to provide safe, reliable transportation for senior officials, visitors and staff while supporting basic administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Drive UN Women vehicles for the Regional Director, Deputy Director, high‑ranking officials and VIP visitors, ensuring strict adherence to safety and security protocols.
• Transport mail, documents and parcels to government offices, embassies, commercial establishments and UN sites.
• Receive and escort passengers at the airport, handling visa and customs formalities when required.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs, odometer readings and fuel receipts; report any discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure vehicles meet security and safety standards set by the duty‑station risk management process.
• Provide basic clerical support to the office and back‑up the Protocol and Administrative Assistant as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and integrity when dealing with senior officials and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Client‑oriented attitude with strong confidentiality and tact.
• Ability to follow UN Women policies, vehicle management guidelines and security procedures.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s licence for the vehicle class required.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining UN Women vehicles.
• Accurate record‑keeping of odometer readings, fuel purchases and vehicle logs.
• Knowledge of UN security and safety standards for motor transport.
