English Teacher (Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join Kilkenny and Carlow ETB at Coláiste Aindriú on a fixed‑term basis. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality English instruction, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the overall learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess the English curriculum for secondary students.
• Develop lesson plans that align with the national syllabus and incorporate cross‑curricular links such as literacy, numeracy and critical thinking.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and share best practices.
• Uphold professional standards set by the Teaching Council of Ireland.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher meeting the general and special requirements of the Teaching Council of Ireland.
• Current registration with the Teaching Council and ability to provide a registration certificate.
• Demonstrated competence in professional knowledge, practice, communication and self‑management (up to 300 words per competency).
• Final‑year degree or postgraduate diploma candidates may apply, subject to successful registration.
