About the role
UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide technical and coordination support for strengthening internal control arrangements and finalising operational oversight guidance for its East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) country offices.
Key responsibilities
- Review delegation of authority instruments and ensure systematic follow‑up on internal control statements and self‑assessments (Workstream 1).
- Develop and finalise the concept note on operational and fiduciary oversight at the country office level (Workstream 2).
- Design and deliver practical guidance, communications and webinars to enable consistent application across country offices.
- Coordinate with multiple teams and time zones to meet tight deadlines.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, audit, public administration, international development or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in internal controls, audit/assurance, risk management, operations or programme management within international organisations, INGOs or the UN system (preferably UNICEF).
- Proven ability to translate policy requirements into practical guidance and to facilitate trainings or webinars.
