Field Technician – Electric Drive Trucks

About the role

Komatsu is hiring Field Technicians for its Electric Drive Trucks at the Morenci Mine Site in Arizona. The position involves maintaining and repairing Komatsu electric‑drive haul trucks on a rotating day‑and‑night shift schedule. Candidates should have solid electrical or mechanical fundamentals and be ready to work onsite in a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize a safe work environment and follow all mine safety, environmental and operational requirements.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair and maintenance on electric‑drive haul trucks.
• Execute component change‑outs, inspections and planned maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with Komatsu field service teams and mine personnel.
• Communicate potential issues (materials, tooling, labor, quality, EHS, permitting, etc.) to leadership.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience maintaining mining equipment such as electric‑drive trucks, shovels, drills or loaders.
• Ability to read technical prints and complete repairs to OEM specifications.
• Willingness to travel 100% and maintain a clean driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, low‑voltage electrical and mechanical systems.
• Capability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables and formulas.
