Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Save the Children East & Southern Africa Regional Office in Nairobi, ensuring the integrity of finance systems, timely financial reporting, cash‑flow management and payroll administration. The role focuses on treasury and accounts‑payable operations for the regional office and provides support to the Kenya Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Perform invoice reconciliation, checking completeness, accuracy and correct budget codes.
• Prepare payment runs in TM5 and obtain bank signatory approvals.
• Provide payment support for procurement of medical supplies, including review of purchase packs and voucher posting.
• Prepare bank payment upload files, including payroll, for approval.
• Process travel advances, TER reports and hosting fee charges.
• Post bank entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with audit preparation, tracing documentation and ensuring completeness.
• Support internal control maintenance and provide information for audits.

Required profile

• Experience in treasury and accounts‑payable functions.
• Familiarity with finance systems such as TM5.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to process invoices, vouchers and bank entries efficiently.
• Knowledge of audit preparation and internal control procedures.
