Finance Associate

About the role

The Finance Associate will work within UNOPS' Finance Group, supporting the preparation of financial statements, overseeing financial reporting compliance, and processing transactions. This role contributes to strengthening the organization’s financial control environment and capacity building.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing interim and year‑end corporate financial statements, supporting schedules and notes.
• Support audit activities, maintain logs of audit recommendations and provide relevant data analysis.
• Coordinate quarterly and year‑end financial closure processes, reviewing reconciliations and account balances for compliance with UNOPS Financial Rules.
• Analyze General Ledger data, ensure completeness and accuracy of entries, and communicate with internal stakeholders for verification and corrections.
• Monitor transactions and account balances, maintaining a log of issues and contributing to a strong control environment.
• Review and process financial transactions related to grants, advances, and expenses, including inventory submissions.
• Enter transactions in the UNOPS ERP system as required and support capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 24 months of relevant finance experience.
• Familiarity with UNOPS Financial Rules and Regulations.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with internal stakeholders.
