General Manager – Air Cargo Terminal, Nairobi

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to head the air cargo terminal in Nairobi, Kenya. The General Manager will be accountable for all operational, commercial, financial, safety, security, regulatory and people performance of the facility, driving growth and ensuring compliance in a fast‑moving aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for air cargo terminal operations, including cargo acceptance, documentation, security screening, storage, handling, build‑up, break‑down and release for import, export and transit.
• Maintain and improve key performance indicators such as cargo throughput, dwell time, truck turnaround, capacity utilisation and workforce productivity.
• Manage budgets and P&L, develop airline and customer relationships, negotiate commercial arrangements and drive revenue growth.
• Ensure compliance with aviation, airport, customs, security and occupational safety regulations, and maintain robust contingency plans for disruptions.

Required profile

• Significant, recent experience in air cargo terminal operations, airline cargo, cargo ground handling or dedicated air‑logistics divisions, with progressive senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven commercial track record in air cargo, including P&L ownership, airline acquisition, pricing, tenders and measurable revenue or volume growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage complex operational environments and deliver operational improvements with measurable results.
