Head of Maintenance

About the role

The Head of Maintenance leads the estate’s maintenance programme, supervising corrective and preventive work to keep all buildings, roads and equipment in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule all corrective and preventive maintenance activities across the estate.
• Maintain buildings, roads, fire‑life‑safety equipment and ensure they are kept in first‑class order.
• Develop and follow concise preventative maintenance schedules.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and manage budgets, including annual budgeting and monthly reporting.
• Design, plan, and supervise new works, renovations and civil works drawings, ensuring compliance with engineering policies.
• Lead, train and ensure PPE compliance for a multi‑skilled maintenance team, fostering inter‑departmental communication.
• Conduct regular inspections, take corrective actions, and be on call for emergencies.

Required profile

• BSc in Civil Engineering or a degree in Construction Management.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in building or plant maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of multi‑skilled technicians.
• Strong organisational, planning and reporting capabilities.

Required skills

• Plumbing, electrical and civil works knowledge.
• Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BQ) and civil‑works drawings.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Use of equipment for environmental inspections.
