Host/Hostess – Front of House

About the role

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at Fairmont The Norfolk, delivering a warm welcome and ensuring a smooth dining experience. You will manage reservations, seat guests efficiently, and coordinate with the service and kitchen teams to maintain high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly, optimizing table assignments and managing wait times.
• Handle reservation inquiries and bookings using digital reservation platforms.
• Communicate guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor guest flow during service, providing updates to staff and guests.
• Address guest concerns or complaints with empathy and seek timely resolution.
• Maintain an organized host stand with menus, reservation logs, and promotional materials.
• Execute cash handling duties, including opening and closing the register for assigned shifts.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food‑handling policies at all times.
