HR Officer / Administrator

About the role

The HR Officer / Administrator will be the operational backbone of the HR function for a real‑estate investment company. You will manage the full employee lifecycle, ensure payroll accuracy, maintain statutory compliance and provide timely HR reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first‑line HR support, handling enquiries and routing sensitive matters.
• Assist recruitment: prepare vacancy documents, schedule interviews, conduct reference checks and maintain candidate files.
• Coordinate onboarding, workspace readiness and induction plans.
• Track attendance, leave balances and absenteeism trends.
• Manage off‑boarding, exit documentation and final payroll inputs.
• Own end‑to‑end payroll processing for the group, including starters, exits, allowances, deductions and overtime.
• Process statutory payments (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF) and handle registrations for new entities.
• Maintain complete employee records, update HR systems and run data quality checks.
• Compile monthly HR reports and dashboards covering headcount, leave, recruitment, performance and compliance.
• Coordinate performance‑review schedules, PIPs and Personal Development Plans.

Required profile

• Mid‑level HR professional with at least 36 months of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing and statutory compliance in Kenya.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
