Human Resources & Public Relations Manager

About the role

The Human Resources & Public Relations Manager will provide strategic HR leadership across manufacturing, sales, distribution and corporate functions while also overseeing the company’s external reputation, stakeholder relations and crisis communications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning and talent development.
• Manage employee and industrial relations, disciplinary matters, grievances and union engagement.
• Oversee HR administration, payroll coordination, attendance, leave and employee records.
• Drive performance management, employee engagement and training programmes.
• Provide hands‑on HR support for manufacturing plants and shift‑based workforces.
• Support workforce planning, productivity and labour cost management.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment legislation and occupational health & safety regulations.
• Lead corporate communications, media engagement and public relations activities.
• Coordinate government, regulatory, community and other stakeholder relationships.
• Manage corporate reputation, crisis communication and external stakeholder issues.
• Produce HR analytics, workforce insights and management reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
• Professional HR qualification such as CHRP‑K (preferred or required).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant HR experience, including senior‑level responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing or blue‑collar environments is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment law and compliance requirements.
