ICT Intern - Software Developer

About the role

Amref Health Africa is seeking an ICT Intern – Software Developer to join its ICT Shared Services team. The intern will work alongside senior developers on real‑world production systems that support health programmes across Africa, gaining hands‑on experience in full‑stack development using React and .NET technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications with React on the frontend and C#/.NET on the backend.
• Build, consume and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET Framework or .NET Core.
• Implement UI components, forms and data views following existing design systems.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and databases.
• Develop, test and document software to ensure quality, reliability and scalability.
• Debug and troubleshoot frontend and backend issues, performing unit and integration testing.
• Support the identification and resolution of bugs reported by users or QA.

Required profile

• Current enrolment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree program.
• Strong interest in developing health‑focused digital solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
