Individual Consultant for IYB training system development & rollout

About the role

The International Labour Organization (ILO) seeks an experienced individual consultant to adapt, contextualise and roll‑out the ILO Improve Your Business (IYB) entrepreneurship training system under the M4I programme in Kenya. The consultant will work closely with digital labour platforms, sector associations, refugee‑serving organisations and implementing partners to create a market‑relevant training package for refugees and vulnerable host‑community workers in the beauty, construction and platform‑based service sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review programme design and engage with platform partners to identify onboarding, quality and market‑demand requirements.
• Align IYB modules with social‑protection frameworks and develop facilitator guidance, leaflets and add‑on materials.
• Design and deliver a Training‑of‑Trainers (ToT) workshop for at least 20 trainer candidates from selected partner organisations.
• Provide technical oversight, quality assurance and documentation during the rollout phase, including certification of entrepreneurs.
• Prepare inception report, adaptation deliverables, ToT results report and final rollout report within the stipulated timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in entrepreneurship or business‑management training, preferably with IYB/SIYB methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to work with refugee or vulnerable populations and understand social‑protection policies in Kenya.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills to coordinate with digital platforms, NGOs and private‑sector partners.
