Insurance Officer – Claims Management

About the role

Watu Credit Ltd is seeking an Insurance Officer to manage third‑party claims for its asset financing portfolio. Reporting to the Insurance Manager, you will work on a fixed‑term, one‑year contract to ensure timely processing of court summons, demand letters and claim documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log court summons and demand letters, updating the third‑party claims worksheet.
• Analyse incoming claims to determine eligibility for underwriting or legal action.
• Guide clients through claim documentation, collect statements and ensure completeness.
• Forward scanned documents to underwriters and legal officers for further processing.
• Maintain accurate claim reference numbers, monitor case progress and communicate status updates to clients.
• Collaborate closely with the legal department and head of department to protect the company’s interests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Insurance or a related business field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in claims management, customer service or call‑center environments.
• Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of insurance and legal matters.
• Familiarity with insurance and legal operations and processes.
