Machine Operator

About the role

As a Machine Operator at Mars Snacking, you will run and monitor production machinery on the factory floor in Nairobi. You will ensure safe, efficient operation while meeting strict quality and food‑safety standards and achieving daily production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust production machines according to Mars SOPs.
• Continuously monitor machine performance, parameters and output to maintain line efficiency.
• Conduct routine quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with quality and food‑safety standards.
• Perform autonomous maintenance tasks such as cleaning, inspection, lubrication and report any abnormalities.
• Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations, GMP and food‑safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Production Team Leaders and line associates to resolve technical issues and meet production goals.

Required profile

• Technical or vocational qualification in manufacturing, engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or fast‑moving production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.
• Understanding of workplace safety, autonomous maintenance and GMP.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed.
