Manager, Fintech and Cyber Audit

About the role

Safaricom is seeking a senior professional to lead its Fintech and Cyber Audit function. The role combines deep technical expertise in cybersecurity with extensive experience auditing fintech platforms and digital financial services. You will work closely with senior leadership to protect high‑value transactional environments and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across web, mobile, API, network and cloud assets.
• Conduct comprehensive technology and cybersecurity audits of fintech platforms, payment systems and related services.
• Assess cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and evaluate application controls and technology governance.
• Leverage audit analytics, automation and continuous auditing techniques to improve audit efficiency.
• Communicate complex technical risks to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial services, banking, fintech and telecommunications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum six years of experience in internal audit, technology risk, IT audit, cybersecurity or technical security testing.
• Proven experience auditing fintech platforms, digital financial services or high‑value transactional environments.
• Strong background in cloud security, application controls and technology governance.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and report‑writing skills.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CEH, OSCP or equivalent.
