Material Controller – Contracts & Supplier Performance

About the role

We are seeking a Material Controller who will optimise inventory, manage contracts and drive supplier performance for Kenya Airways. The role combines data analysis, cost control and contract administration to support aircraft maintenance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse material data to support contract negotiations and optimise inventory levels.
• Operationalise existing contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with performance indicators such as CSP, PBH, GTA and ad‑hoc requirements.
• Monitor and report on contract performance, generating regular management reports.
• Review material costs and implement cost‑saving proposals.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support material supply in line with maintenance schedules.
• Apply lean techniques and industry‑proven metrics to improve supplier performance.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in material cost control, contract management or supply chain within aviation or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft components, airworthiness certification (EASA, FAA) and relevant customs regulations.
• Ability to interpret maintenance documentation such as IPC, RSPL, AMM and Service Bulletins.
• Excellent analytical, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional integrity and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
