Materials Movement Supervisor

About the role

Siemens Industry is seeking a Materials Movement Supervisor to lead rigging and crane operations at its new greenfield skid‑assembly plant in the Raleigh/Knightdale area of North Carolina. The role ensures safe, efficient handling of heavy components used in electrical skid assemblies for power distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement rigging plans for all lifting operations, assessing site conditions and selecting appropriate methods.
• Lead and supervise rigging crews, conduct safety briefings and provide on‑the‑job training.
• Perform load calculations, verify that loads stay within crane capacity, and communicate lift instructions using hand signals or radios.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment.
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to optimize material flow and storage.
• Maintain documentation of lift plans, inspections, and incident reports.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with experience supervising rigging or crane operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and ability to enforce compliance.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with ground personnel and other departments.
• Ability to work onsite in a fast‑paced, startup plant.
