Milk Procurement Manager

About the role

The Milk Procurement Manager will lead the sourcing of milk for MSVL Group, ensuring the right quantity, quality, cost and timing. You will build a sustainable, diversified supply base by managing farmer relationships, collection centres and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual and long‑term milk procurement strategies.
• Forecast milk requirements and create daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal procurement plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with dairy farmers, cooperatives, aggregators and other suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers, maintaining an approved supplier database.
• Manage collection centres, aggregation routes and collection schedules.
• Oversee accurate weighing, recording, cooling, handling and transfer of milk.
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure raw milk meets sampling and testing standards.
• Monitor milk quality, rejection rates, adulteration and antibiotic residues.
• Develop pricing recommendations and supplier incentive structures.
• Negotiate and manage contracts within approved authority.
• Control procurement budgets, costs and supplier performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agriculture, Dairy Technology, Food Science, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in milk procurement, dairy supply chain or related FMCG procurement.
• 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing dairy farmers, cooperatives, aggregators, collection centres and logistics.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan dairy sector is highly preferred.
• Professional procurement or supply‑chain qualification and membership in a relevant body are an advantage.
