Operations Associate - Kitchen & Quality

About the role

Ando, a fast‑growing food company operating across Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa, is seeking energetic Kitchen Operations Associates. You will work side‑by‑side with chefs and kitchen leaders to ensure food is prepared, packed and dispatched efficiently while upholding the highest standards of quality, cleanliness and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily kitchen operations to guarantee smooth production and service.
• Prepare and pack food according to recipes and quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products before dispatch.
• Monitor hygiene, cleanliness and food‑safety practices.
• Assist with stock counts, ingredient replenishment and FIFO rotation.
• Record wastage and report operational issues to Kitchen Leads.
• Complete production records and daily checklists accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen teams to ensure timely order preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient working environment.
• Identify and promptly escalate problems to ensure smooth operations.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Production, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business, Operations or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in restaurants, hospitality, retail, customer service, manufacturing or food production (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Food Handler’s Certificate or HACCP certification is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets.
