Operations Manager - Waste Collection Services

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead our waste collection services in Nairobi. The role oversees daily field operations, fleet utilisation and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily waste collection, transportation and field operations.
• Plan and optimise collection routes, schedules and fleet utilisation.
• Lead and supervise drivers and waste collection teams.
• Monitor fleet maintenance, fuel usage and operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with NEMA, county requirements and waste‑management regulations.
• Track operational KPIs, service levels, waste volumes and customer complaints.
• Enforce health, safety, environmental and PPE standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Environmental Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in waste management, logistics, fleet or transport operations.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
