Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Spectroscopy (Remote)

About the role

This is a long‑term, part‑time remote position for a qualified researcher to provide peer‑review services for manuscripts in the field of spectroscopy. The role supports academic journals by ensuring the quality and integrity of submitted papers.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check literature review for relevance and completeness.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and significance.
• Provide constructive, clear, and objective feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewable papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking and written communication abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
