Procurement Manager – Baba Dogo

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the sourcing and purchasing activities for Nairobi Central Hardware Ltd, ensuring the timely acquisition of quality materials for construction projects. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on supplier management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies aligned with business goals.
• Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, including supplier selection and contract negotiation.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve disputes.
• Oversee inventory levels, coordinate with warehouse and logistics to ensure timely stock replenishment.
• Analyze market trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, prepare performance reports, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor price fluctuations, manage risks related to supply shortages, and develop contingency plans.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in the hardware or construction sector.
• Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of Kenyan procurement regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Tally.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
