About the role
The Project Driver will provide safe and reliable transport for Sightsavers staff, partners and visitors in Nairobi and across project sites. Working closely with the program team, the driver ensures timely travel, vehicle maintenance and logistical support for field activities.
Key responsibilities
- Transport staff, partners and visitors safely, adhering to schedules and project calendars.
- Maintain vehicle condition through daily checks, routine servicing, mileage monitoring and timely insurance and licence renewals.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, addressing any faults or defects.
- Coordinate pick‑ups for project visitors and support official visits.
- Provide logistical assistance for office and field activities, including vehicle scheduling and transport request registration.
Required profile
- Valid Class C driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Secondary school certificate and formal driver training or equivalent experience.
- Previous professional driving experience, preferably in an NGO, embassy or UN setting.
- Defensive driving knowledge is desirable.
Required skills
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
