Public Relations Intern

About the role

The Public Relations Intern will support Elenexus Group’s communication and advocacy work, helping to amplify youth‑empowerment initiatives across Kenya. This part‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site community engagement with remote tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft press releases, media statements and other communication materials.
• Create and schedule content for social media and organisational channels.
• Support the planning and execution of outreach campaigns and events.
• Maintain and update media contact lists and monitor coverage.
• Assist in developing strategic messaging that aligns with Elenexus’s mission.
• Collaborate with program teams to capture and share youth‑empowerment impact stories.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or holding a diploma/degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Strong interest in youth empowerment, sexual and reproductive health rights, mental wellness and sustainable development advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse, inclusive environments and manage multiple tasks in a part‑time hybrid setting.
