Regional Content Manager – Africa

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Regional Content Manager to lead field‑based storytelling across Africa. Based in Nairobi, you will bring the new Prosper Global brand to life by creating compelling, community‑focused narratives and multimedia content that support media engagement, fundraising, and brand awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, capture, and produce high‑quality stories, photography, video, and digital‑first content from field locations.
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Regional Communications and the Director of Global Photography to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and is ready for earned, paid, and owned channels.
• Work closely with country teams and regional leadership to source stories that illustrate impact and resonate with donors, partners, and the public.
• Manage the content pipeline, ensuring ethical gathering, proper archiving, and timely distribution across communication platforms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in content creation, storytelling, and multimedia production within a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong understanding of African regional dynamics and the ability to travel across multiple countries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, audience‑centric narratives.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
