Regional Partner – Africa (Digital Transformation)

About the role

The Africa Regional Partner will lead Accion Digital Transformation’s investment activities across the continent, focusing on digital financial services for underserved markets. This senior position reports to the Managing Partners and works closely with Accion’s advisory teams to drive impact‑aligned growth.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and execute equity investments that align with the digitalisation and impact mission.
• Develop detailed financial models, projections, and valuations for potential deals and exits.
• Present investment analyses and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Lead negotiations, legal documentation, and ensure ESG compliance throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Manage the Africa equity portfolio, monitor performance, and design responsible exit strategies.
• Collaborate with Accion’s Operating Partner, Advisory team, and portfolio company leadership to shape digitisation strategies.
• Potentially supervise an Investment Analyst as the portfolio expands.

Required profile

• Extensive private‑equity experience in emerging markets, particularly with regulated financial institutions.
• Deep understanding of digital financial services for MSMEs, smallholder farmers, and low‑income households.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end investment cycles, from sourcing to exit.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with shareholders, boards, and management teams.
