Risk & Compliance Officer

About the role

VisionFund Kenya, a financial services arm of World Vision Kenya, is seeking a diligent Risk & Compliance Officer to support its risk management and compliance functions. You will work closely with the Risk and Compliance Manager to ensure the institution adheres to local laws, international standards, and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying business weaknesses and economic trends that could affect the organization.
• Maintain the risk register by tracking daily risk events, updating risk scores, and ensuring timely controls.
• Support forecasting activities and prepare risk‑related analyses.
• Keep compliance software and databases up‑to‑date, monitor regulatory changes, and draft periodic reports for management and regulators.
• Create checklists and follow‑up actions to address audit findings and review policies for potential loopholes.
• Organise training sessions and ensure all policy, procedure and control documents are current and easily accessible.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, business administration, risk management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, attention‑to‑detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional certifications in risk or compliance (e.g., CRCM, CRM, CFE) are a plus.
