Security Manager

About the role

The Security Manager will lead all security operations for a luxury hotel in Nairobi, ensuring the safety of guests, staff, and assets. This senior position requires strategic oversight of risk management, emergency response, and day‑to‑day security activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the hotel’s security team, coordinating schedules, performance, and training.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve security procedures, risk assessments, and loss‑prevention strategies.
• Monitor CCTV, access‑control, key‑control, and other security systems to protect the property.
• Respond to security incidents, conduct investigations, preserve evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
• Design and execute emergency, crisis, and evacuation plans, including regular drills.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan laws, hotel policies, brand standards, and best‑practice security guidelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with police, emergency services, external security providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide security awareness and training to all hotel employees.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, Police/Defence Studies, Business Administration or related field.
• Relevant security management certification or professional training.
• Minimum 5 years of security experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience managing security in a hotel, hospitality, corporate or high‑risk environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan security regulations and occupational safety requirements.
