Senior Financial Analyst – Venture Capital

About the role

Renew Capital, a pan‑Africa investment firm, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the evaluation, due diligence and scaling of high‑potential ventures across the continent. The role sits at the heart of the investment process, working closely with investment managers, portfolio company CFOs and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain robust financial models for pipeline and prospective investment opportunities.
• Analyze historical financial data, forecasts and assumptions to assess risk, return and scalability.
• Evaluate capital expenditures, depreciation schedules and capital‑structuring scenarios.
• Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis and primary/secondary research to support investment theses.
• Support financial and commercial due‑diligence processes from screening through investment‑committee review.
• Work directly with portfolio company finance teams on budgeting, 13‑week rolling cash‑flow forecasts and financial controls.
• Monitor portfolio performance, calculate key ratios and flag risks or opportunities early.
• Translate complex analysis into clear, decision‑ready materials for investment committees and leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
• 6–8+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, private equity, venture capital, investment banking or corporate finance.
• Proven experience with growth‑stage companies and due‑diligence processes.

Required skills

• Advanced financial modeling expertise (integrated three‑statement models, valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis).
• Capital structuring and depreciation schedule analysis.
• Strong quantitative analysis and data‑driven insight generation.
