Senior Quantity Surveyor – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Joseph Gallagher Group is seeking experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our team across several sites in the UK. Based at our Rugby office, you will support projects in Liverpool, Chester, Henley‑on‑Thames, Chessington, Redcar, Dartford, Woolston, Isle of Dogs and Cricklewood, ensuring cost control and commercial compliance from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare internal commercial reports and ad‑hoc analyses for senior management.
• Develop valuations and payment applications with full contractual documentation.
• Produce cost reports for clients, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules and maintain supplier accounts.
• Administer subcontractor payments, from requisition to final account settlement.
• Oversee contract administration, including change management and register maintenance.
• Identify commercial risks, value‑engineering opportunities and cost‑saving measures.
• Utilise the company costing system for accurate forecasting and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a senior QS role.
• Proven experience with NEC contracts (essential).
• Construction, civil engineering, shafts or tunnelling exposure is desirable.
• IChemE membership is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
