MEP Project Engineer/Manager – Uganda

About the role

Plan, manage and deliver Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) installation projects from mobilization and value engineering through to final handover. Ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site mobilisation, including manpower planning, equipment logistics and temporary facilities setup.
• Develop and maintain detailed project work programmes aligned with the master construction schedule.
• Oversee day‑to‑day execution of mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations, coordinating with main contractors, consultants and other trades.
• Chair progress, technical coordination and client meetings, representing the MEP scope professionally.
• Manage commercial aspects: value engineering, variation orders, monthly valuations and final account close‑out.
• Control documentation, RFIs, RFAs and maintain accurate site records, drawing registers and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• 10+ years progressive experience in an MEP contracting firm, with at least 5 years in project or senior site management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing & drainage, fire protection, MV/LV electrical systems and BMS.
• Experience with FIDIC‑type contracts and commercial administration.
• Proficiency in project scheduling tools, MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM.
