Senior Social Worker – Protection & Cross-Border Case Management

About the role

The organisation is seeking a Senior Social Worker to lead protection and cross‑border case management for trafficking survivors in Nairobi. The role involves comprehensive intake, assessment, planning and coordination of services to ensure safe, dignified and trauma‑informed support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake, comprehensive assessments and develop individualized case management plans for survivors, ensuring age‑, gender‑, disability‑ and culturally‑responsive interventions.
• Manage a caseload of survivors, provide structured follow‑up, coordinate referrals to medical, psychosocial, legal and livelihood services, and oversee cross‑border repatriation and reintegration processes.
• Maintain accurate case records in the organisation's Case Management System, produce regular updates for management and contribute anonymised data for programme and donor reporting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in case conferences and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in social work and case management, preferably with vulnerable populations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting survivors of human trafficking, gender‑based violence or child protection, and working in shelter or victim‑assistance settings.
• Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed approaches, safeguarding principles and cross‑border protection frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs and international organisations.
