Software Developer/Analyst – Data Platforms & CommCare

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a senior Software Developer/Analyst to design, build and maintain data platforms that support its humanitarian programmes in Kenya. You will lead the development of CommCare applications and Power BI dashboards, ensuring reliable data collection, integration and visualisation for monitoring and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and roll‑out data platforms for programme monitoring and evaluation.
• Build, customise and maintain CommCare mobile applications for field data collection.
• Create and optimise Microsoft Power BI dashboards for large‑scale programme reporting.
• Develop, automate and manage ETL pipelines using Azure Integration Services, Data Factory and SQL Server Integration Services.
• Support enterprise‑level data systems across multiple countries and time zones.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in technology development, with at least three years focused on CommCare and Power BI.
• Proven experience in public‑sector or NGO monitoring & evaluation technology tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Analytical curiosity and a systems‑thinking approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and within dynamic, multi‑disciplinary teams.
