Software Support Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. You will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a smooth experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes and enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline by creating automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teams and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Strong desire to work with cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Excellent communication skills for bridging technical and non‑technical needs across different cultures and time zones.
