Trainee Import/Export Specialist

About the role

Join DHL Global Forwarding as a Trainee Import/Export Specialist and support the preparation and clearance of customs documentation for international shipments. You will work closely with internal teams and overseas offices to ensure smooth import and export operations while complying with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer import and export plans, optimizing service performance.
• Perform transactional tasks in line with customs regulations and internal procedures.
• Prepare duty calculations, tariff assessments, price conversions, and weight/volume measurements.
• Draft, distribute, archive, and verify all required import/export documents.
• Check invoices and shipping documents for compliance with federal regulations.
• Update shipment information in IT systems and coordinate with customer service, sales, and product teams.
• Collaborate with overseas offices to verify shipment details and resolve recurring issues.
• Suggest process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
