Vice President of Sales (Nairobi)

About the role

BURN Manufacturing is hiring its first Vice President of Sales. This senior‑level position will join the management team in Nairobi to drive rapid growth of its fuel‑efficient cooking products across East Africa. The role reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for scaling sales and expanding into new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales to 10,000 stoves per month by the end of 2015 and ramp up to 20,000 stoves per month across East Africa by 2016.
• Lead the expansion of sales operations into Uganda and Tanzania.
• Manage existing distributor relationships and develop new sales channels.
• Assist in forecasting and produce monthly performance reports for senior management.
• Oversee a sales team of 35 people, including recruitment, hiring and performance management.
• Consult with the CEO, marketing, and design teams on overall sales strategy and new product development.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of consumer‑product sales experience, with a strong track record in East Africa.
• 7‑10 years of management experience leading sales teams.
• Proven success in meeting or exceeding ambitious sales targets.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in English.
• Ability to work directly with clients and adapt creatively to diverse sales environments.
• Passion for “selling for good” and commitment to the company’s mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business field.
• No Kenyan work permit required to apply.
