Work Control Center Clerk

About the role

The Work Control Center Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support for facilities maintenance and work control operations supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures service requests and work orders are accurately captured, routed and tracked to keep mission‑critical facilities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log, track and route service requests and work orders through the Work Control Center.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers submitting maintenance requests, documenting requirements, priorities and locations.
• Update work management systems, coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel, and monitor work order status to support timely completion.
• Maintain work control records, file documentation, prepare reports and support scheduling activities.
• Assist with inspections, audits and other administrative duties as required.
• Perform other job‑related tasks consistent with the position’s level.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of clerical, administrative or customer‑service experience, preferably in facilities or maintenance operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of office procedures, record‑keeping and customer service practices.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain/maintain facility credentials.
• Fluent in reading, speaking and comprehending English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using computerized work management systems.
