Workshop Manager

About the role

Muundo is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead its custom‑furniture workshop in Kenya. This hybrid position combines on‑site supervision with strategic planning to ensure high‑quality production and timely delivery of bespoke pieces.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and coordinate production schedules.
• Manage materials, inventory levels, and procurement processes.
• Lead a team of skilled artisans, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Implement and monitor quality‑control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Track project timelines and adjust resources to meet deadlines.
• Facilitate clear communication between the workshop, clients, and vendors.

Required profile

• Strong management and leadership abilities, including team coordination and supervision.
• Background in carpentry, woodworking, or furniture manufacturing.
• Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and quality‑control implementation.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret design specifications.
• Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with team members, clients, and suppliers.
• Diploma or degree in wood technology, industrial design, production management, or a related field.
• Prior experience in workshop management or a similar leadership role.
