The role covers financial accounting, billing and collections, treasury management, tax compliance, workshop finance, management reporting and general office administration. It suits a self-driven person who can work independently, keep strong financial controls and supervise a junior team member.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records (general ledger, fixed assets, fleet assets, intercompany accounts) and prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Manage the full customer billing cycle, monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Oversee workshop finance: invoicing, parts and consumables procurement, inventory reconciliation, petty cash and profitability reporting.
  • Process supplier payments, statutory remittances, payroll-related payments and cash flow forecasts, and monitor foreign currency transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, Kenyan tax legislation and statutory reporting, and support internal and external audits.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses and management reports.
  • Coordinate general office administration, keep company records, liaise with banks, suppliers and auditors, and support management.
  • Supervise and support the Finance & Administration Assistant.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with CPA (K), ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification (or actively pursuing one).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a busy accounting or finance role covering the full monthly accounting cycle.
  • Experience in leasing, automotive, logistics or other capital-intensive industries is preferred.
  • Ability to supervise junior staff and work across finance and operational teams.

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax legislation, financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel; experience with Jedox or similar financial reporting systems is an added advantage.
  • Interest in using AI tools to improve finance and admin processes is an added advantage.
